A few photos of my Way to Dawn keyblade. Uuuh, despite that I actually rushed a lot at the end (Paint job: Two days. >.<' I actually got a lot of positive response for it.
I've followed 's tutorial in the basic idea, using a dremel and plywood, so you can look there if you need ideas, but if it's Way to Dawn specific questions, feel free to ask. ^^
If anyone wants to see the whole cosplay, have some photos of it.
(Iii, I can't wait until I get to make Oathkeeper and Oblivion )
Damn. O_O Awesome keyblade there, my friend. I wish I had the time, supplies, and money to do such a thing. o:
Looks pretty good, nice detail.

Thank you, and yeah, plywood isn't the cheapest. D: Lucky you can get four-five keyblades on one big piece of wood if you place them correctly. But then... I've never claimed that cosplay is a cheap hobby... especially when you go all in for making it as good as possible.

WOW!! D: this came out super amazing!! I'm thinking of making one of these out of plywood instead of foam, since I'm more familiar with power tools than I am "electric knives" and exacto blades by looking, i think it looks like with the demon wings that you used the "scrap" pieces of plywood that vvmasterdrfan says to use in the tutorial to make the vein-like raised parts of the wing; but on the white wings, did you use a second layer of plywood to make them, or did you just paint them in a way that gives the illusion of depth? and may I ask what brands of paint you used? sorry to bombard you with questions :[ it's just that this came out sooooo well. it looks so cool!! OoO any information you'd be willing to share is very much appreciated ^^

I chose to use plywood since I thought it wouldn't break as easily as foam would, not that it stopped me from being nervous over it breaking anyway. xD *Strapped it onto her back* Actually, the only part that's not from the plywood sheet I used, is the eye part and the star at the hilt, those were made in sculpey, so the demon wing is carved out, and I did carve out a layered effect on the angel wing as well (It's just not that visible in the picture), and painted it to enhance the effect. And I was pretty short on time when I started painting, so I just took some normal hobby paint, with some left over Warhammer paint from Games Workshop and went crazy. xD And I'm just happy to help. :3

Sorry for the late reply, been away working at a con. ^^' You're most welcome. I'm picky, so I still want to repaint it and fix some stuff on it. xD Not to mention put on some protective stuff so I don't have to be just *that* careful with it so the paint won't chip. Besides, I rather wanted to have a nice keyblade, but not have time to do Riku's shoes, than a sketchy looking keyblade, and a pair of even more sketchy looking shoes. ^^'

Across the globe, 27 million men, women, and children live in some form of slavery. That is more people at this moment than in all the centuries of the Atlantic Slave Trade. Something must be done. This contest serves two purposes: Raising awareness about human trafficking and raising funds for the Not For Sale organization.
Open to all mediums. Deadline is March 10, 2010 @ 11:59pm PST.
